 Punta
Cana is between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic ocean
on the tip of the southeast of the Dominican Republic. Its
population is about 100,000. This southern coastal area of
the Dominican Republicis is famous for its nice beaches and
clear bue waters. Thus, it is THE tourist spot of the region
with a lively night life and many beach resorts. The area
is otherwise fairly deserted and about a 3 hour ride from
Santo Domingo. There is an airport (pmj) located in this area
and about it is as close as 5 minutes to some resorts, about
30 minutes to most and 2 resorts are about 45 minutes to an
